Michael Lee Homes Named One of Minnesota’s Leading Private Companies for 2026

The East Metro homebuilder places #164 statewide by revenue on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2026 list

WOODBURY, MN / ACCESS Newswire / November 3, 2026 / Michael Lee Homes, a design-build custom home builder serving Minnesota’s East Metro, has been ranked #164 on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2026 list of Minnesota’s Largest Private Companies. The ranking is shared with sister company Kootenia Homes and places the family-led homebuilding group among the state’s leading privately held businesses.

The annual list ranks Minnesota’s privately held companies by revenue, and the 2026 edition is based on 2025 results. The companies on the list come from many industries, so the ranking is a notable milestone for a homebuilder focused on custom homes and the East Metro communities where it builds.

“Being recognized among Minnesota’s leading private companies is a reflection of the families who have trusted us with their homes,” said David Frosch, President and Owner of Michael Lee Homes and Kootenia Homes. “We’ve grown by focusing on the details that matter to homeowners and by building in communities where people want to put down roots. This recognition belongs to our team, our trade partners and our clients.”

For more than two decades, Michael Lee Homes has built custom homes across Minnesota’s East Metro. Its design-build model brings design, planning and construction together under one team. Homeowners have a single point of contact from the first sketch to move-in day, and they can see how each choice affects cost and schedule.

Michael Lee Homes is currently building in four active neighborhoods: Waypointe, Hartung Farm, Cardinal Reserve and Mississippi Landing. Waypointe and Hartung Farm are in Woodbury. Mississippi Landing, in Cottage Grove, offers river views and sits beside the Grey Cloud Dunes Scientific and Natural Area. The 237-acre preserve is known for its sand-gravel prairies, oak savanna and floodplain forest.

“Our growth has never been about building more homes for the sake of it,” Frosch said. “It’s about building the right homes in the right places, and doing it well enough that our clients recommend us to their friends and neighbors.”

The company remains family-led. David Frosch’s son, Steven Frosch, serves as Vice President of Construction Management and is helping guide the company into its next chapter.
